White Swamp

So that's how Canada tells us Canadians "Have a happy new year!". Quite a bright, welcoming sight if you ask me. This is actually a part of my garden. This was taken at 18 o'clock, and since it's night from 4 o'clock in Canada, I had to set the exposure to a very long time; so I laid down in the snow, put the camera in front of me, at the top of the snow hill I was lying on, and took photos from there. My camera suggested 8s@2.8, but that was way too bright; I tried various other settings, but here's my most satisfying one, 2s@2.8. In the end, I ended up lying for 10 minutes on the snow with nothing else than boots, jeans, a T-shirt, and a lab coat (was too lazy to take it off at school), so I came back in the house completely frozen, but with a photo! That's what matters. I'm hopefully still healthy, at least physically.
I thought about naming this "White Hills", but it's not really white... Then "swamp" came across my mind, and I chose it, for the overall green-ness of the extreme fog that night, the swamp-y aspect of this tree (Yes, it's a 2.5 meters tree right there in the middle, it's just mostly covered in snow), and the surreal aspect of the lights... I kept the word "white" because this deviation is (kind of) replacing Whiteness.
